Fort William & Glen Nevis

Fort William & Glen Nevis

Where the Highlands gather around Britain’s highest mountain.

Mountain Landscape · Scotland

Fort William sits at the meeting point of lochs, mountains and deep Highland valleys. Just outside the town, Glen Nevis opens into one of Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes — steep walls of green rising toward the shadow of Ben Nevis. Waterfalls fall from high cliffs, narrow roads twist deeper into the glen, and the sense of scale grows the further you travel.

The drive into Glen Nevis is slow and beautiful. Early morning or evening light transforms the valley completely. Bring waterproofs — the Highlands tend to make their own weather.

Follow what interests you. The small detours often become the best parts of the journey.
