Polperro feels almost hidden from the modern world. The village spills down a narrow valley toward a small tidal harbour where fishing boats sit between whitewashed cottages. Cars stay outside the centre, leaving only winding lanes, stone steps and the sound of the sea moving through the harbour walls.
Best experienced slowly. Park at the top and walk down into the village. Coastal paths nearby offer some of the best views back over the harbour.
